About Grammar
Auckland Grammar School holds the key to unlocking academic, sporting and cultural potential. A long, rich history of student successes, combined with our belief in the value of tradition, makes Auckland Grammar School a leader in boys’ education.
Auckland Grammar School sets its standards very high, demanding excellence across all aspects of daily life.
The School has been located at Mountain Road since 1911 and has since grown with a number of specialist facilities offering world-class education to young men from New Zealand and beyond.

The School's Headmaster
T. O’Connor became the 11th Headmaster of Auckland Grammar School in October 2012.
Student Leadership
The Head Prefect is always the first student to cross stage at the beginning of Term 1.
School Environment and Culture
Auckland Grammar offers an academic programme based on both national and international syllabi, catering for a range of students from diverse backgrounds, socio-economic groups and ethnicities.
School Rules and Policies
The School Rules outline the expectations in terms of the behaviour and personal presentation of all students, including on campus and while out in public wearing the School uniform.
Centennial Theatre
The purpose-built Centennial Theatre is situated at the heart of the campus.
Pavilions
The School’s pavilions overlook playing fields of Auckland Grammar School.
Sports Fields
Auckland Grammar School proudly maintains six grass fields for year-round sport.
Sports Centre
The Sports Centre is used for PE classes, and is home to the Premier Basketball team.
Computer Suites
Our technology suites have state-of-the-art equipment including computers.
Venturelodge, Ohakune
Venturelodge is the School’s outdoor education facility based in Ohakune.
Tibbs House
Tibbs House is the School’s boarding hostel, located adjacent to the campus.
