Report: Auckland Secondary Schools Skiing Championships

On Thursday 20 June, the Auckland Grammar School Ski team participated in the annual Auckland Secondary Schools Skiing Championships, held at Snowplanet.

The team had eight weeks of training leading up to the event and the Auckland-wide competition had a total of 88 competitors participating.

In the Ski Race held over two runs, Form 7 student S. N. R. Lyne was first with a combined time of 29.79 secs and Form 7 student S. R. Pratt was third with a time of 29.97 secs.

In the Ski Duel – which was a knock-out competition – S. R. Pratt was first with S. N. R. Lyne placing third.

In the Slopestyle event the team did not place, and the team finished second overall in the Auckland competition.
