Report: Auckland Secondary Schools Outdoor Disc Ultimate Championships
On Sunday 19 March, three of the School’s Disc Ultimate teams competed at the Auckland Secondary Schools Outdoor Championships in Takanini. All teams performed strongly, with the Premier II and III teams finishing fourth and fifth respectively.
Led by captain J. M. Woodward, the Premier I team played some clinical offence during pool play, and went on to secure an 8-2 win in their semi-final match against Westlake Boys’ High School.
The team then went up against Pakuranga College in the final. In a well-fought match, the determination and composure of the Premier 1 side allowed them play consistently and effectively, ending in a 10-2 victory and the title of Auckland Champions for the fourth consecutive year.
The Premier I team are now looking ahead to Week 10, where they will compete at the New Zealand Secondary Schools Championships for Summer Tournament Week in Taupo. We wish them, and Master in Charge W. T. Buckingham all the best for the upcoming tournament.
