Cycling: New Zealand Secondary Schools Road Championships
The New Zealand Secondary Schools Road Cycling Championships is the ultimate event of the School season and the event that the squad trains hard all year for. It is the chance for riders to show their ability and skill at the highest level. This year, the event will be held from Saturday 28 September – Tuesday 1 October in Timaru, but the team will travel down on Friday 27 September.
The Sir Bernard Fergusson trophy is up for grabs for the fastest senior team in the Team Time Trial and the Paul Matthews Cup for the junior team time trial champions. Age group Road race and Points race also offers a chance for a national champion title. The H. A. Joli Cup for Best Boys School is awarded to the school with the most cumulative points across the three events with every rider in a top 10 placing contributing towards the School total.
