Auckland Secondary Schools Road Race Championships

Last Tuesday 16 August, 30 members of the Distance Squad competed at the Auckland Secondary Schools Road Race Championships at Bruce Pulman Park, Takanini. Despite strong winds which made for difficult course conditions, the races were fast and competitive.

The Junior team finished second in the six-man category with a notable performance from Form 4 student K. J. Moyle who set the pace until the denouement of the race.

The Intermediate team won Silver in both the three and six-man categories, led by a strong trio composed of Form 4 student C. P. Wagener and Form 4 students R. W. Fitzpatrick and A. V. Wilkins.

The Senior team saw an outstanding performance by Form 6 student J. A. Mora who raced strategically to finish second overall at a pace of 3 mins/km.
