Violin and Viola
The violin has a strong presence in the string section of the Symphony Orchestra and in Grammar Virtuosi. Form 5 students who play the violin are also strongly encouraged to learn viola.
As one of the most popular instruments, the standard is very high. Due to limited teacher availability, violin or viola lessons for complete beginners are not available. We recommend that beginner students consider playing the cello, double bass, a brass or woodwind instrument, or percussion as an alternative.
Instrument hire can be arranged through the Music department, subject to availability – please contact the Music department for further information.
Both the Violin and viola are taught by Bryan Lin – click here to enrol in lessons.
