Our role is to provide support and administer first aid to students who become unwell or are injured during school hours. We provide holistic care that is culturally sensitive and appropriate to the individual.

Hours: 8:30am – 3:30pm during term time.

Location: Beside the Printing Room (opposite the Old Gym) and can be accessed via Gate 3.

Services

  • The management of accidents, illness, and follow-up care for any serious events
  • Monitoring long-term medical conditions
  • Maintenance of health documentation for all students
  • Close partnership with the Student Services team

Unwell or injured students

Students who are unwell must obtain a note from their teacher during class time before reporting to the Nurse. Students are then assessed, treated, and sent back to class when they have recovered, or if necessary, they are sent home after the Nurse has contacted their parent/caregiver.

Please ensure that the school has your correct contact details. Please check the Parent Portal System and provide any updated information to [email protected].

Accident/Emergency situations

If the School is unable to contact a parent/caregiver in an emergency the student will be taken either to a nearby medical centre or an ambulance will be called.

Defibrillators (AEDs)

Automated Electronic Defibrillators are kept in key locations around campus.

Confidentiality

Our registered nurses work in accordance with the New Zealand Nursing Council Code of Conduct to offer a youth friendly confidential service. Information that is considered necessary for the health and safety of the student while at Auckland Grammar will be made available to teaching staff and deans where appropriate.

Families seeking advice on any aspects of health care regarding their son are welcome to contact the Health Centre on 09) 623 5637 or [email protected].
