Report: Samoan Group at Polyfest
On Saturday 11 March, the School’s Pasifika Group competed on the Samoan stage at the annual Polyfest competition, held at the Manukau Sports Bowl.
Having performed in assembly earlier in March, the group is made up of mainly junior students. The Samoan competition is one of the most competitive divisions at Polyfest, so it was a big challenge for the group to rise to, in order to achieve a major placing.
While the group didn’t place this year, they were certainly serious contenders, and they performed their six pieces almost flawlessly.
They represented the School with pride and showed true Grammar spirit, and the group are already starting to prepare for next year’s competition.
Special thanks to Masters in Charge W. Chen and T. Elise for their guidance and support of the group.
