2022 Young Sportsperson of the Year awards

The 2022 College Sport Young Sportsperson of the Year awards were held last week. These annual awards have been held since 1991 to celebrate the outstanding sporting achievements of Auckland secondary school students.

This year, a total of nine Auckland Grammar School students were named as finalists in their respective sports:

• A. J. Norwell – Cycling
• E. W. Pawson – Cycling
• L. J. Costley – Gymsports
• G. J. B. Pilkington – Snow Sports (Skiing)
• A. S. Fatialofa – Squash
• J. Choi – Table Tennis
• P. J. N. Broadhurst – Touch Rugby
• N. G. Hays – Disc Ultimate
• J. M. Woodward – Disc Ultimate

The School wishes to congratulate E. W. Pawson, L. J. Costley, A. S. Fatialofa and J. M. Woodward for winning their respective categories.

E. W. Pawson was also named as the 2022 Overall Sportsperson of the Year winner.
